Vitalogy manual therapy to activate self-healing powers

Vitalogy is a form of manual therapy and aims to activate self-healing powers.

Vitalogy is a complementary treatment form of manual therapy. Compared to other complementary treatment methods such as acupuncture, chiropractic or homeopathy.

What is biology?

Biology is a comprehensive doctrine of health. The term is derived from the Latin word for life (vita) and the Greek logos (education). Accordingly, biology means "the doctrine of life."

Similar to the atlaslogy, the first cervical vertebra, the atlas vertebra, also plays a major role in biology. The similarities in the two physical therapy treatments are not a coincidence. Because the founder of atlasology, Swiss chiropractor Peter Hogler, was the mentor of Walter Landis, the inventor of atlasology. In contrast, the atlas according to Hoegler is somewhat older (1981) than the atlas according to Landis (1994).

As much as therapists insist on the differences: for the average person, biosynthetic and atlassian healing techniques are very similar.

How biology works

The focus of treatment is the first cervical vertebra, the atlas vertebra. The spinal cord passes through this vertebra, as in other vertebral bodies. The first cervical vertebra is the connection between the spine, spinal cord, and skull (or brain). According to the concept of life science, barely perceptible displacements of the atlas spiral lead to disturbances via two control loops, leading to health problems:

Control loop: A “sliding” vertebral body changes healthy spinal statics. This leads to poor posture and stress, which can be especially noticeable in the form of back pain and disorders of the musculoskeletal system. Traditional medicine also knows the relationship between muscle tension, poor posture, and pain. On the other hand, vertebrae that did not "slid" in the sense of biology.

Control loop: According to bioscience, changes in the region of the atlas vertebra and spine have a negative effect on the spinal canal of the spine and the numerous nerve tracts around the vertebral bodies. This leads on the one hand to local complaints and on the other hand to blockages in the nervous system, which in turn hinders the body's self-healing abilities.

Bioremediation procedures

Biotherapy is mainly offered by alternative practitioners, sometimes also by physiotherapists or chiropractors. After collecting medical history (patient's anamnesis), leg lengths are measured. The difference in leg length is an indicator of displacement of the atlas vertebra.

During the actual treatment, biologists apply short, painless pressure with the thumb when inserting the lateral neck muscle below the ear. According to bioscience, this impulse causes a reflexive deep relaxation of the entire body muscles and ultimately eliminates the deformity. Vitalogists refer to this as a reset, a reboot. Misinformation is overwritten in the musculoskeletal system. Biologists also talk about "sensorimotor amnesia." Once cleansed, the body's self-healing powers can work again and lead to healing.

The duration of treatment is usually about 6 to 8 units. At the beginning of treatment, two to three sessions are often scheduled, which are then continued one to two times a week. To monitor success, the difference in leg length is measured after each session.

Application areas of biology

Muscle tension, back pain, and other complaints of the musculoskeletal system are the most common areas of application of biologics. The physical therapy method is also used to relieve headaches, dizziness or joint pain in rheumatic diseases. In addition, bioactive applications should have a positive effect on the nervous system and nerve conduction.

Side effects

From a medical point of view, the side effects of the treatment are not expected, because the pulses exerted on the cervical vertebra should not cause any harm if practiced correctly.

Proof of effectiveness

There is currently no evidence of the effectiveness of biologics in the form of scientific studies. Therefore, treatment costs are usually not covered by health insurance companies. This usually also applies if the private insurance tariff does in fact include non-medical practitioner benefits.
