The pink rose is native to Europe and Asia. It grows on wild rose bushes in jungles and forests, but also as a fruit. It has been used as a medicine since the Middle Ages. According to Greek mythology, the goddess of love Aphrodite gave the rose her beauty.



Rose hips ripen into bright red fruits in the fall. Warning: Touching fine hair with its grains causes constant itching. Wear disposable gloves when handling. Hair loses its effect when cooked.



Rose hips have a delicate fruity taste. When cooked, it tastes similar to tomatoes. Rosehip peels can be easily dried - after which they are brewed with boiling water to make aromatic tea.
